TRIALS - Words and Decisions

Destinies are made in the valley of decisions. We decide on what we want to be. Once that decision is made, the universe conspires to grant it. But also note; you will be tried for every decision you choose to stand for. There will be a time of testing; a time to practice what you claim to believe in.

Take for example; you finally made up your mind to embark on a particular task for financial security. But as we all know, there is no such thing as something for nothing. You understand that a price has to be met to get the desired outcome; quid pro quo. So, you focus on the three things you can control: discipline, focus and effort (circle of influence). Moreover, along the line you get challenged with doubts, fear, procrastination and other negative influences. You get challenged with things that seem out of your control (circle of concern). Like gravity you feel yourself being pulled down by opposing negative forces. The inner struggle begins.

Our only limitations are those we set up in our own minds. If you believe you have reached your limit then you have. If you believe it’s final then it is. Your decision is your final judgment; full stop. Decisions are not void to the universe. The universe grants whatever we desire, whatever we decide we want. But also note; life will test your ability to adapt before advancing you.

Trials.

Destiny stripes you away from every weapon you have learnt to use. Things you could easily do without difficulty seem challenging. You find it difficult to talk your way out of situations you could easily talk your way out of; the right words to use eludes you.

Take for Example; I met a young fellow some months back who shared an intriguing story with me. He talked about an incident that occurred few years back that changed the life of his father. His father is a well talented lawyer. The best, so he said. He has succeeded over fifty (50) court cases, never lost one. A smooth talker he is. He is very good with words. But an incident changed his life. He got engaged in a situation he couldn’t talk his way out of.

One of his sons got entangled in a criminal act, and would be tried and convicted. He agreed to represent the case after acknowledging the whole truth. He believed that since he has never lost a case before, he could easily talk his way out of this one, regardless of the truth. But, something incredible happened in court on judgment day. He talked and talked, provided evidence proving the innocence of his son. The complainant threw shades on him. He defended the case to the best of his capability, all to no avail. He lost the case and his son was sentenced to prison. For the very first time he lost a case. What a life changing event it must have been for him, one he couldn’t talk his way out of.

When you get to the next level in life, you are going to have to let go of everything you thought you knew about yourself, everything you thought would help you win.

Broken Promises.

We often in life encounter the very things we talk about. We attract the things we believe.  Your words and decisions take effect in the universe whether or not it was kept; your word is your bond. Whenever someone makes a decision, it’s like making a promise to do or not to do something.

Take for example; as a kid, your parents promised to get you the gift you have long yearned for. They promised and decided that on your forth coming birthday, you will get it. Joy filled your heart after hearing the news. You thanked them with a grateful heart. As time passed, you waited patiently for your day to come while displaying good behavior so as not to make them renege on their promise. But, on that very day they disappointed you by not getting it and apologized. The feeling of disappointment clouds your mood, you feel sad.

Effect of Broken Promises.

That feeling is synonymous to the way the universe reacts to us whenever we make a decision and break it. Spoken words takes effect whether you meant it or not. Your word is your bond in all endeavors.

Do not make decisions when you are led by your feelings and emotions. Sometimes, emotionally driven decision comes back futile.
