3 Ways to Discard Negative Thoughts
Your life moves in the direction of your thoughts. The things you continually think about paves the way for your future. They are the materials that forms the intended house. Your thoughts can either propel you to succeed or hinder your success. Negative thoughts are just as powerful as positive thoughts. They can keep you in a state of forgetfulness, preventing you from taking any positive action that will yield productive results. You have the ability to replace one thought with another. No matter how bad the situation may seem, don’t get lured into a state of hopelessness. Discard every negative thought that tries to take root in your mind, in order to create room for positive and productive thoughts.
Take a look at three (3) ways to discard negative thoughts;
1) Forget the past: Whatever happened in the past is gone forever. It will serve no purpose constantly thinking about it. Most times people fall victim of negative thoughts because of their refusal to let go of the past. They keep reminding themselves of how bad things got in the past and impressing their mind with the fact that it will be no different than before. This is the trap of negative thinking. It lures you into believing that there is no promising future for you. The more you keep dwelling on the past, you in turn put the present on hold thereby making the future a complete mystery. Forget about what happened in the past.
2) Live in the moment: Every decision you have made so far, has led to this very moment; here and now. This is the moment of creation. Sometimes when things go wrong, we spend so much time thinking about past mistakes and about the chances we didn’t or couldn’t take. Reliving past experiences puts us on hold of every good thing life has to offer. Life is a balance of holding on and letting go. We can only experience the gift of the present by truly living in the moment; free from the foothold of negative thoughts. Don’t taint your present moment with unpleasant memories of the past. Discard negative thoughts.
3) Think positive thoughts: Like I said earlier, you have the ability to replace one thought with another regardless of the nature of the situation. You may have earlier tried to embark on a task but discontinued because of the thoughts of failing a second time. Nothing in life is to be feared, only understood. Overcome your fear of failure. When you stop being a slave to your fears, you will get to understand that failure is not fatal, but rather a lesson urging you to go after what you really what with a better experience. Always think positive thoughts that will uplift you into taking a stance against negative thoughts.
